We Booked the Same Remote Cabin Ten Years Apart

For our honeymoon, ten years ago, my wife and I rented a tiny cabin in the woods, far from anything, booked through a local owner who has long since stopped renting it out. It was perfect and private and we always meant to go back, but life happened, and we lost the details, and the owner disappeared from the internet. We could never find it again. It became a happy, slightly sad story we told: the perfect little cabin we lost.

For our tenth anniversary, we decided to do a proper getaway. My wife spent an evening scrolling through hundreds of rental listings across the whole region, on a big modern site that did not exist ten years ago, filtering by nothing in particular. She stopped on one and said, look at this one, I love it, and showed me the photos. I loved it too. We booked it that night, on a feeling, without recognizing anything.
