Swear It Happened is a reader-judged archive of true scary stories and first-person accounts — the kind that always gets the same question: really? Sometimes the answer is no. Read one. Vote it up or down. Then call it: True, Fake or Not sure.
That second vote is the whole game. The percentage under a story is simply what the room thought — a headcount, not a ruling. Every case comes with a polygraph needle, a shareable Case Report and a comment section full of amateur detectives; your own calls live in your dossier, no account needed.
Submissions are reviewed before they appear. Got one of your own? Send it in. Authors get pen names, badges and their own feed — and a story in front of the jury.
What people swear happened to them? When reality slips. Not every story here has a monster in it — some have only a detail that refuses to fit. A building that was never there, a drive that took an hour too little, a conversation you had already had. Reality Glitches and Time Slips collect those; so does Deja Vu. Sometimes the detail arrives before the event, which is what Premonitions, Dreams That Came True and Psychic Experiences are for. And when the timing alone is the impossible part, it goes to Impossible Coincidences.
When you are not alone in the house. The classics: Ghosts and Haunted Homes, plus Haunted Places for the hotels, hospitals and roads. Visits From Beyond is quieter — the sign that arrived the week someone died. Cursed Objects is the box nobody should have opened, and Sleep Paralysis the thing standing in the doorway while you cannot move.
When someone came back. People who say they saw the other side and returned write in Near-Death Experiences; people who say they were here before write in Reincarnation.
When it is outside. Lights that behaved wrongly UFOs, the ones who came out of them Aliens, the shape at the tree line Cryptid Encounters, the night in the tent that ended early Wilderness Encounters — and Animal Omens, because the dog always knows first.
