Black-Eyed Children

Black-eyed children are the knock at the door after midnight: two kids, faces down, asking to come in to use the phone — and when they finally look up, their eyes are entirely black, no iris, no white. The pattern (the request for INVITATION, the flat affect, the dread out of all proportion) repeats across reports since the 1990s. Folklorists call it a modern vampire legend; witnesses call it the worst thirty seconds of their lives. The accounts filed here are judged hard, and the believed ones share one detail: nobody ever opens the door twice.
