Cold Spot

A cold spot is a sharply bounded pocket of chill in an otherwise warm room — walk two steps and the temperature drops, two more and it is gone. Ghost-hunting lore reads it as a presence drawing energy; building science answers with drafts, thermal bridging and subjective chills. Both are right often enough to keep the argument alive. The accounts that survive our jury usually add the detail a draft cannot fake: the cold spot MOVES, follows, waits on the same stair, or sits exactly where the previous tenant's chair used to be.
