Exorcism

An exorcism is the ritual expulsion of an unwanted presence from a person or a place, present in nearly every religious tradition. The Catholic rite is the famous one, but house cleansings, smudging and blessing ceremonies belong to the same family. Modern churches require psychiatric screening before anything formal, precisely because most cases resolve in a clinic.
