Vril

Vril is a fictional, all-powerful energy or life force introduced in Edward Bulwer-Lytton’s 1871 novel The Coming Race. In the story, Vril is controlled by an advanced subterranean civilization and can heal, destroy, power machines, and shape society.

The idea grew from Victorian fascination with electricity, magnetism, mesmerism, evolution, and hidden worlds beneath the Earth. Later occult writers and conspiracy traditions recast Vril as a real esoteric force, sometimes linking it to secret societies, Nazi occult myths, hollow-Earth legends, or flying saucers. Science recognizes no physical force called Vril; its persistence is better explained as literary influence, folklore, and the way speculative fiction can be absorbed into modern myth.

On this site, Vril-related accounts usually appear as first-person stories about strange energies, hidden civilizations, secret texts, or uncanny underground encounters. Readers can submit such experiences, and a jury of readers votes True or Fake on them.
