Missing 411

Missing 411 is the label researcher David Paulides gave to a claimed pattern in wildland disappearances: victims vanishing near boulder fields or water, clothing found folded, children discovered impossible distances uphill, canines refusing to track. Critics answer that big datasets always produce eerie-looking clusters and that terrain explains most of it. The survivors' accounts filed here are the pattern from inside: hours gone, no memory of the gap, boots dry after a river crossing they cannot recall making.
