Parallel Universe

A parallel universe is the many-worlds idea worn casually: somewhere the other choice was made, and occasionally — the stories insist — the somewhere leaks. Physics' many-worlds interpretation does not offer visits; folklore does, in the form of strangers who know you, buildings that were never built, and the famous man from Taured who allegedly arrived from a country that does not exist. Filed accounts here are subtler: an afternoon in a slightly wrong town, and the highway exit that has refused to exist ever since.
