Crisis Apparition

A crisis apparition is a person seen — or heard, or felt — by someone far away at the moment of that person's death or grave danger. The Victorian Society for Psychical Research collected thousands of dated cases; wartime produced entire archives of them. The pattern is stable across centuries: brief, silent, ordinary-looking, followed by news. Modern filings here replace telegrams with phone records, which sharpens the only question that matters: the visit was at 4:07, the accident at 4:05, and the witness told her husband before the call came.
