Astral Projection

Astral projection is the claimed ability to separate consciousness from the body deliberately and travel — across the bedroom, across town, or somewhere that does not map onto geography at all. Practitioners describe a vibration stage, a lifting sensation and a cord anchoring them back. Skeptics point to hypnagogic states and vivid imagination. The accounts that end up on trial here are the awkward middle cases: someone describes a neighbour's rearranged living room they had never entered, and the neighbour confirms it. Verdicts on such stories split almost perfectly down the middle.
