Simulation Theory

Simulation theory is the proposal that reality is computed — argued formally by philosopher Nick Bostrom in 2003 and adopted informally by everyone who has watched a texture fail to load twice. On this site it functions as an explanation of last resort: rendering errors for repeated strangers, NPC behaviour for eerily looping conversations, physics glitches for the coffee that fell upward. The jury cannot test the cosmology, so it tests the witness: was the loop really identical, and did anyone else see the sky flicker.
